Typing a few keywords in to Google will almost guarantee that you get search results, but how good are they? Almost anyone can publish on the Internet, so you need to verify that the information provided is from a reputable source.

The following subject guides identify the recommended resources in the library collections and on the web. The guides are compiled by your subject specialists and provide a comprehensive overview of of the best resources for your subject area. The guides cover broad subject areas, rather than specific programmes of study, and you may find that more than one guide is relevant.

TIP: A comprehensive literature search of the available resources will allow you to read widely around the subject, absorb a range of viewpoints and draw your own conclusions on a topic based upon what you've read. For more information on literature searching see: Information Skills
