Online resources and the Albert Sloman Library

The Albert Sloman Library (ASL) provides access to online resources through the Library website, including e-journals, e-books and databases. All of the resources which the Library subscribes to can be searched using Encore, the Library search engine. Most resources can be accessed by entering a University login ID (username) and password. For more details, see the E-Resources on the ASL website. You may also wish to consult the guide to Support for e-Resources on the Library website.

1. Access to electronic resources

Is through your Essex University username and password. If you experience technical problems trying to access an e-resource, please see the guide to Support for e-Resources on the Library website. If this does not help, please contact the Library helpdesk (see Help & Support below) for further assistance.

2.  Library Search

Can be accessed from any computer with internet access.

It includes tens of thousands of electronic books on business studies and related topics accounting, auditing, finance, marketing, management, etc.

Just enter some keywords to search for them. You might also find our video helpful - Finding a book at the Albert Sloman Library

3. Many journals are available online as well.

If you have a reference to a specific journal article, type the name of the journal into Encore.

Check the holdings information on the record to make sure that the Library has access to the volume you wish to see, then click on the link to connect to the online volumes. For more help, see our video - Finding the full text of an article
